Otto’s Shrunken Head

I was feeling the effects of the Sun God on an April afternoon at 6:15 and without the comfort of a mask, I was looking for an establishment that would protect me from the earth’s rays which beat down on my hangover.  Luckily as I strolled into Otto’s Shrunken Head the over head lights were out except for a few multi colored blowfish lamps which softly illuminated the front bar area. “This will have to do” I thought to myself as I greeted friends and sat on one of the red pleather padded bar stools.

My head is bloated and stinging so the option to shrink one’s head seemed like a wonderful idea as I ordered a Stormy Skull…a mixture of dark rum, ginger, and coconut Malibu.  My nose is touching the tiny umbrella at the rim of the glass as I take two sips….then lifting my head to converse with those I’ve met and newly talked up aquaintances while trying unsuccessfully to tie the stem of a maraschino cherry that I had scooped up from underneath one of the ice chips.

Of course this goes on for many more hours and now my stormy skull is filled with soft yet swiftly moving clouds blowing about my head and causing me to concentrate closer on my steps.  Otto’s tiki gods had put a spell on the dog biting me all day and as I left to go to the next pub I felt a healing no common medicine could provide…a spring in my step as I walked down the street….only to pause and walk back to find my book…which I had drunkenly forgot to grab.
